Sea and Sand: A Story Valley Anthology
Drowning dredged up the most random regrets.
You would think I’d regret leaping in front of the seal, using my body as a shield. Before that, I suppose I could have lied when I took the depths before our approach. I could have convinced Captain Leo that the Hamiota would never find passage through the boulder ramparts and hidden ridges guarding Selkie Island. After all, such were the very rocks battering me, filling my entire body in hurt such that I could no longer remember which hip the seal had bashed against, seconds before I fell into the sea.
Now the undertow let go and I found myself staring, unmoving, into gently churning depths.

Charlie Cat Book Series
Charlie Cat picture book series explores challenging social situations and neurodiversity through rhyme and fun illustrations. Every Charlie Cat book includes follow-up questions to help teachers and parents start conversations about emotions and how to handle them.
For Thanksgiving, Charlie takes a break from the noise and socialization. Other books introduce the concepts of personal space, noise sensitivity, impulse control, speaking up and compromise in play, and wanting something we can't have.
